OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2010. Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 13.6% on the year in January-August 2009 to 2.652 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee said.

Commercial timber procurement rose 8.8% to 1.459 million solid cubic meters, wood veneer output rose 22.4% to 117,400 cubic meters, and sawn lumber production increased 7.1% to 637,300 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output rose 11.7% year-on-year to 25.9 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went up 6.4% to 204,100 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 16% to 970.9 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Inventories of woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies amounted to 138.6 billion rubles on September 1, 2010.
