EBRD Grants Ukrenergo Loan of EUR 175mln
OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2010. EBRD allocates Ukrenergo, an operator of all Ukrainian power transmission lines, a credit of EUR 175mn, the Bank representative announced October 13, 2010. The credit is granted for construction of Zaporizhzhya NPP – Kakhovska substation 750 kV transmission line.
Millennium Capital sees this news as positive for Energoatom. Currently, the bandwidth of the ZNPP’s transmission lines is low and do not allow the Company to operate at full capacity (6GW), limiting it by 5.3GW (87% of total installed capacity). Setting into operation of the new 750 kV transmission lines allows to introduce additional 700 MW of the power plant. The slightly negative influence for the GenCos is caused by the increase in Energoatom’s output, that could potentially decrease the GenCos basic production.
