Leningrad NPP: Visit of Participants of V International Nuclear Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2010. The V International Nuclear Forum 2010 held in Saint Petersburg in September was finished by a technical tour to Leningrad NPP and Leningrad NPP-2 under construction.
Representatives of enterprises and organizations of national nuclear industry and foreign companies visited LNPP educational-training centre, where they got acquainted with the system of operating personnel training. At LNPP-2 the guests were provided with the opportunity to evaluate the progress of works on construction of a new generation NPP.
The delegation of Hungarian nuclear scientists, who had come to the Forum at the invitation of Russian trade union of nuclear industry workers, was among the technical tour participants. During their visit, representatives of Hungarian trade union met chairman of LNPP primary trade union organization Alexander Zaitsev. “Trade unions of Russian and Hungarian power engineers have been cooperating for a long time and participation of our delegation in the Forum is a part of this cooperation,” Roshe Gall, President of Hungarian power engineer’s trade union, said.
He noted that LNPP educational-training centre had made a very good impression on him. “Paksh NPP has four VVER-440 power units designed in accordance with Russian projects; therefore, we can say that our professional cooperation has existed for more than 30 years. Such cooperation is very beneficial for both the parties. At present, the issue of new power units’ construction is being discussed in Hungary; that is why our specialists are also studying the Russian experience. The trade unions, in their turn, are interested in human factors and resources, in particular, in personnel training issues.”
Roshe Gall also invited nuclear workers of Russian trade union delegation to make a return visit to Hungary
