Average Productivity of Principal Crops Increased in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2010. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the average crop capacity of grain corn accounted for 31,4 c/ha or by 31% more than in the same period of 2009, and the average crop capacity of sunflower accounted for 16,2 c/ha, increasing by 17%. The average crop capacity of fodder corn and forage increased by 45% - up to 158,6 c/ha, potato – by 18% - up to 130,9 c/ha, field vegetables – by 17% - up to 60 c/ha.
The average productivity of stone fruit grew by 50% - up to 39,1 c/ha, seeded fruit – by 2% - up to 58,7 c/ha. At the same time, the average crop capacity of grapes, according to preliminary data, reduced by 26% as compared to the same period of 2009, totaling to 28,6 c/ha.
The analysis showed that the largest productivity was registered in the North development region as compared to the average level in the country, grain corn – by 28%, fodder corn and green peas – by 25%, seeded fruit – 12%, sunflower – by 9% and potato – by 3%.
In the South development region there was registered the largest productivity of stone fruit, grapes and vegetables – by 23%, 20% and 12%, respectively.
