OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010.  TATNEFT has been one of the first major Russian companies to register its rights for the second level domain name "татнефть.рф" in the Cyrillic Zone of the World Wide Web, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.     

With creation of the russified name TATNEFT is expanding its presence in the Russian-speaking Internet space. For the purpose of visiting the Internet portal of TATNEFT Group the user can now simply enter the "татнефть.рф" address written in Cyrillic letters into the address bar of the Internet browser. The domain name "татнефть.рф" as well as the main name "tatneft.ru" allows the user to use the most user-friendly way of addressing and navigating through the Internet and helps to maintain a transparent system of the corporate Web resources defined by the domain name policy of the Company.

The site of TATNEFT Group of Companies presents a wide range of information meeting the requirements of the Russian and the International Law systems, which comply with requirements for issuers of securities. For the purpose of increasing the transparency TATNEFT has been publishing its annual reports on sustainable development and social responsibility since 2005. With the advent of the russified domain name the portal of TATNEFT Group has become even more accessible to the Internet users. The Russian National Cyrillic first level domain "РФ" was registered on December 5, 2008. Open registration of domain names in Cyrillic started on November 11, 2010. The first Tatarstan sites, which started operation in the "РФ" domain were the sites of "татарстан.рф" (tatarstan), "президент.татарстан.рф" (president.tatarstan) and "правительство.татарстан.рф" (government.tatarstan).
