OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. Belarusian companies’ foreign currency proceeds increased 19.9% on the year in January-August to USD 17.957 billion, an official with the National Bank of Belarus (NBB)’s information department told.

Of the total amount, commodity export proceeds increased 18.9% on the year in January-August to USD 15.037 billion, services export proceeds went up 27.1% to USD 2.706 billion, proceeds from domestic trade for foreign exchange rose 16.3% to USD 161.111 million. Other proceeds decreased 10% to USD 52.934 million.

The share of commodity export proceeds stood at 83.7% of the total foreign proceeds as of September 1, 2010, down 0.8 of a percentage point year-on-year, service export proceeds at 15.1%, up 0.9 of a percentage point.

Proceeds from domestic trade for foreign exchange increased accounted for 0.9%, unchanged. The share of other proceeds decreased to 0.3% from 0.4%.

Corporate foreign currency proceeds from the CIS rose 71.4% on the year in January-August 2010 to USD 8.77 billion, including proceeds from Russia at USD 6.965 billion, up 63.5% on the year.

Belarus companies’ currency proceeds from non-CIS countries went down 6.8% on the year in the period to USD 9.187 billion.

In total currency proceeds, the share of the U.S. dollar decreased 3 percentage points from September 1, 2009 to 33.6% as of September 1, 2010, the share of the Russian ruble increased 11.5 percentage points to 36.6%, the share of the euro went down 8.2 percentage points to 28.4%, the share of the Belarusian ruble was at 0.6%, down from 0.9%, and the share of other currencies remained at 0.8%.

In 2009, currency proceeds of Belarusian companies fell 33.2% to USD 25.255 billion.
