OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,286,900 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to USD 425.7] in August 2010, up 0.3% month-on-month, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went down 0.3% on the month. In January-August 2010, the average wage increased 10% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 1.649 million rubles in August, in the Minsk Region 1.282 million rubles, in the Gomel Region 1.214 million rubles, in the Grodno Region 1.197 million rubles, in the Brest Region 1.163 million rubles, in the Vitebsk Region 1.144 million rubles, and in the Mogilev Region 1.159 million rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.422 million rubles, in construction 1.77 million rubles, in transport 1.552 million rubles, in telecoms 1.463 million rubles, in agriculture 925,500 rubles, in retail and public catering 1.136 million rubles, in healthcare 979,200 rubles, in education 802,800 rubles, in science 1.528 million rubles, in sports 1.428 million rubles, and in culture 874,800 rubles.
