During two days participants discussed a number of issues: drafting a standard agreement “On Air Traffic in the CIS Member-States”; analyzing proceedings by the antimonopoly authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan against the leading telecommunications companies in these countries (roaming cases); conducing studies of competitive environment on the markets of retail trade in food products; and preparing a repot “On reforming electric power industry and the role of antimonopoly bodies in supporting competition on the market of electric power”.
Discussing investigations of cellular communication providers in Russia and Kazakhstan, the Headquarters looked into additional enforcement measures to be undertaken by the antimonopoly bodies of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and the Ukraine to complete joint antimonopoly investigations of the markets of cellular communication.
“Joint case investigations by antimonopoly authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as actions of the antimonopoly bodies of other CIS countries lead to quality changes on the market of cellular communication using roaming, in particular, multiple reductions of rates for such services in the CIS”, said Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Anatoly Golomolzin.
