Krasnoyarsk CHP-1 Held Technogenic Accident Prevention Training
OREANDA-NEWS. October 07,
According to the training scenario, at industrial site of CHP-1’s oil facility, a deflector (a relief valve) of tank No. 2 containing turbine oil failed because of abnormal heat during the weekend. At the top of the tank, a welding seam breached due to aged metal material. As a result, the pressure forced oil away, causing a spill. At 8:10 in the morning, M.A. Ditsura, an Electricity Department specialist in charge of oil regeneration, identified turbine oil spill at tank No.
Main objectives pursued through training activities included practicing skills for responding to hazardous situations independently, promptly, and correctly and undertake appropriate accident release measures.
Training participants also practiced in suppressing emergencies and preventing breakdowns of CHP equipment, attributed to exposure to hazards, and in providing first aid under emergency situations and accidents. Interaction procedures between CHP personnel, station shift manager, emergency services and CHP-1 fire brigade were tested.
All trainees demonstrated their high-level competencies. In the course of the training activities, the main objectives were met, and the response plan was subject to practical examination.
