Yanukovych Participates in Ukrainian-Russian Economic Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2010. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych participates in the sitting of the first Ukrainian-Russian cross-regional economic forum in Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation.
In his opening address, the Head of Ukrainian state said: “Today we hold a meeting planned back at the Kharkiv meeting. We have managed to do a lot since then, and we must not stop – we are going ahead. I would like to dwell on some points. For example, I deem it necessary to expand the scope of interaction among regions through active involvement of not only border territories, but also other regions which reached a high level of economic cooperation.”
The Head of state is convinced that a good illustration of such cooperation is a forum of policy-makers and businessmen from Ukrainian and Russian regions (from Ural federal district of the Russian Federation), which took place from September 26 to 28 in Ekaterinburg.
Viktor Yanukovych pointed to the importance of successful development of the euroregions projects, having marked the work of three of them – ‘Dnipro’ (Chernihiv, Bryansk, and Gomel regions), ‘Slobozhanshchina’ (Kharkiv and Bilgorod regions), ‘Yaroslavna’ (Sumy and Kursk regions). “The creation of another two euroregions, i.e. ‘Donbas’ and ‘Azov’ is underway,” the President of Ukraine said.
