Cargo Turnover of VCT Soars 50% in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2010. Container traffic through Vladivostok Container Terminal LLC (VCT) in January-September surged 50% over the same period last year, up to 212,420 TEUs, the stevedoring company press service said.
In September, cargo turnover of VCT amounted to 25,609 TEUs, a 4.5-percent drop from August this year, and a 33.5% gain compared with Sept., 2009.
This recent month the stevedore handed 9,754 TEUs of outbound containers, 7,708 TEUs of inbound ones, and 8,147 TEUs of short sea trade.
There were 1934 vessels handled at the port this September, the same figure as in August, 2010. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 753 TEUs.
Vladivostok Container Terminal LLC (VCT) is an container terminal operator at the territory of the port of Vladivostok. The stevedore, having all the necessary facilities and equipment is capable of handling all types of containers and cargo of almost any size and weight. In 2009, throughput of VCT amounted to 205,518 TEUs, a 15-percent drop year-over-year.
