Ust-Luga Company Plans to Construct Warehouse Logistics Facility
OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2010. Ust-Luga joint stock company plans to begin construction of a warehouse logistics facility worth 9.8 billion rubles in 2011, PortNews correspondent reports quoting General Director of JSC Ust-Luga Maxim Shirokov who was speaking at the II International Conference "The Future of Russian Ports" in St. Petersburg.
According to the company’s director, the center project is currently being developed. The facility’s capacity is projected at 6 million tons of cargo a year. With the launch of the project Ust-Luga port might become the first Russian port, providing the autos pre-sales service.
Besides, Mr. Shirokov mentioned among the planned Ust-Luga projects the construction of the port city. Construction is scheduled to begin this October and in 2011 to build the first apartment houses. The number of residents in this new city is believed to amount to 15,000 people after the port reaches its full capacity.
