IBA Expands Range of Electronic Banking Services
OREANDA-NEWS. October 05, 2010. The Bank has signed an agreement with Connect Telecommunications Company on the possibility of making payments for the services of the company by means of plastic cards issued by the IBA, reported the press-centre of IBA.
According to the head of IBA press-services Rauf Aghayev, the Bank continues developing the range of services and the infrastructure of electronic banking.
One of the most popular electronic banking services, as reported by R. Aghayev are payments for utilities and telecommunication services. A few days ago, a Telecommunication Company “Connect”joined the number of companies whose customers can carry out such payments. Thus, the infrastructure of "Electronic Banking" service amounts to more than 10 companies, including Azercell, Bakcell, Narmobile, Bakielektrikshebeke, Azeronline, Elcell, International Insurance Company, etc.
Now, the customers of Connect company, can pay for the internet services or cable TV by credit cards in any of the IBA's ATMs or bank information kiosks, or in the systems of Internet Banking and MobilBank.
According to R. Aghayev, the “Electronic Banking" Service is in growing demand. For example, if during the year of 2007 through all channels of electronic banking 243.8 thousand transactions amounting to 4.88 million manats were carried out, in the year of 2008, the number of all types of transactions amounted to 366.3 thousand (an increase of 33,4% ), and their total amount - 7.97 million manats (an increase of 38,8%). The positive trend remained in the year of 2009 as well: 498,700 transactions amounting to 13.6 million manats. In the first and second quarters of 2010, the number of transactions exceeded 264,000 and the total amount was 8.3 million manats.
