OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2010. The public hearings concerning draft Tax Code of Ukraine took place in Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The First Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Vadym Kopylov, the Deputy Head of State Tax Administration of Ukraine Serhiy Lekar, the Head of Parliament Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy Vitaliy Khomutynnik, deputies, representatives of public associations and mass-media participated in the meeting.

According to Vadym Kopylov, the strategic tasks of tax reform are democratization of tax system and provision equal rights to taxpayers and tax bodies. Taxpayers should consider it obligatory duty to pay taxes in order to diminish tax avoidance. Moreover, the Tax Code will create favourable fiscal conditions for profit legalization and foreign direct investment attraction.

"A modified draft Tax Code also has some innovations, - the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Vadym Kopylov noticed, - Such innovations are directed at tax administration improvement and defense of taxpayers’ interests".
