OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2010. Shenhua Corporation (PRC), a global coal mining leader, hosted the world's first coal mining professional skills competition. JSC SUEK team scored as 2nd in the medal count winning 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals yielding only to the host team - Shenhua. Overall, the competition involved 12 teams from 9 major mining countries including Russia, China, USA, South Africa, India, Germany, Australia and Vietnam.

SUEK was represented by SUEK-Kuzbass miners in underground mining, and by SUEK-Krasnoyarsk miners in surface mining. SUEK miners took part in 8 events out of 10.

SUEK representatives won gold competing in the following events: "Integrated Mechanized Longwall Face Mining" (Anatoly Godin, Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 Mine; Valery Zhilinkov, Vasily Liseyenko, Alexander Marchenko, all from Kotinskoye Colliery Group); "Shearer Troubleshooting" (Victor Babinets, Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 Mine); "Using Programmable Logic Controller" (Andrey Rybakov, SpetsNaladka); "Crawler Dozer Operation" (Vladimir Solovyev, Kharanorsky Surface Mine).

In the "Tunneling" events (Alexander Garbuzov, Pyotr Boretsky, Dmitry Khlebalov, all from Kotinskoye Collier

Group; Alexander Kulichenko, Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 Mine), "Crawler Dozer Operation" (Vladimir Markus, Borodinsky Surface Mine), "Dump Truck Operation" (Vladimir Khokhlenko and Alexander Khokhlenko, both from Kharanorsky Surface Mine), "Excavator Operation" (Pyotr Polyakov, Tugnuy Surface Mine) SUEK team representatives got silver.

Bronze was taken in the following events: "Repairing Electric Fault in Coal Shearer Control Circuit" (Vyacheslav Vasilyev and Gennady Dolmatov, Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 Mine); "Using Programmable Logic Controller PLC Siemens, АВВ" (Vitaly Denisov, S. M. Kirov Mine, and Victor Khudorozhko, Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 Mine) "Excavator Operation" (Eduard Prokhorov, Tugnuy Surface Mine), "Driller Operation" (Sergey Khromov and Sergey Pulyayevsky, Tugnuy Surface Mine).
