OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Belaruskali plans to invest 158 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in the construction of Berezovsky mine in 2010, a source in the administration of the company told.

The construction of the mine with a capacity of 6 million tonnes of potassium ore annually was started in late 2006. The project is to be completed in 2012.

According to the official, the construction is in accordance with the schedule, and there are no problems with financing.

The project cost is estimated at 850 billion rubles.

The ore will be supplied from the new mine to the first processing plant using a cable-belt conveyer to be supplied by Metro Minerals in 2011. Belaruskali has already signed the contract with the producer.

Belaruskali plans to invest 1.276 trillion rubles in its production this year. Last year’s investments reached 900 billion rubles.

The state controls 100% in JSC Belaruskali.
