OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Motor Sich, the only Ukrainian producer of aircraft engines and gas turbines in the CIS region, intends to design a medium-tonnage helicopter by the end of 2011, Viacheslav Bohuslayev, the president of the company, announced on Sep 30. The aircraft can be used for the defense purposes and for rescue operations, as well as  for other activities. It was also indicated that Motor Sich is performing upgrades of Mi-8T, the Russian helicopters, with Ukrainian engines for the needs the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Millennium Capital considers the news as positive for MSICH, as this will help the company to strengthen its position on the Russian market, which is crucial for its long-term strategic plans.
