OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Centras Securities announces an increase of Centras group of companies stake in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (hereinafter - KASE) authorized capital to 9.5 % of the total number of shares issued. Consequently, as of today Centras has become the second largest KASE shareholder (in terms of share number) after "RFCA" which holds 12.2657 % of KASE issued shares, and also KASE's largest private shareholder, reported the press-centre of KASE.

In 2007 Kazakhstan Stock Exchange was transformed from non-profit organization into a commercial one. Besides that, Kazakhstan legislation allowed non-government inventors to own not more than 20 % of KASE shares, except RFCA which bought a stake in KASE previously hold by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Centras considers KASE shares as strategic long-term investment. KASE is the only organizer of trade in foreign exchange, securities and other financial instruments in Kazakhstan; therefore it has great outlooks for development.                 

Kazakhstan Stock Exchange has all reasons to occupy its own special place on the republican financial arena and become an alternative financing source for Kazakhstan economy.

KASE should become a model joint-stock company showing best development and corporative governance practices. On the other hand, Centras is interested in KASE developing as a more efficient company in terms of its business dynamics, capitalization, and revenues.
