OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2010. SCM Group's participation interest in Farmatsiya Donbassa pharmaceuticals company has reached 99.81%.

Today Farmatsiya Donbassa owns and manages a network of over 120 pharmacies focused on retail and small-scale wholesale of medicines. About 30 pharmacies operate under Zdravitsa brand, while the rest have no brand identity. Farmatsiya Donbassa pharmacies are located across Ukraine (Odessa, Zaporozhye, Lugansk and Kiev Oblasts), but most of them operate in Donetsk and Donetsk Oblast.

"The decision to invest in pharmaceuticals business is fully in line with SCM Group's development strategy that aims at reasonable diversification and increase in the share of non-industrial businesses in the total portfolio of the Group. We are analyzing various segments of the Ukrainian market and are interested in entering the most capacious and fast growing sectors," said Nikolay Nesterenko, SCM's Director of New Business Development. "Pharmaceuticals is fully in line with these criteria and, in our view, has considerable growth potential.

Integration of Farmatsiya Donbassa into SCM Group was realized in accordance with the current legislation and approved by AMC of Ukraine and European antimonopoly authorities.
