OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2010. Profmedia’s Avtoradio Radio Station became the laureate of the Golden Chariot National Public Prize of the Russian Transport Industry. High jury paid tribute to the radio station in the Promotion of Transportation in the Media category. The Golden Chariot Prize was awarded to the Avtoradio staff for the Avtomonitor project.

Avtomonitor is a unique hi-tech way to monitor traffic in real time implemented by Avtoradio in conjunction with the leading Internet Company named Yandex. Once they become parties to the project and get the status of Avtoradio Pilots, the motorists can receive the most accurate information about traffic congestions, accidents and local road works. Using the Avtomonitor they can run detour routes to bypass congestions and help other drivers to get a better picture of what’s going on in the city traffic-wise, promptly informing them through Avtoradio of changes in the city’s traffic patterns. Avtomonitor turned one in September 2010.

The Golden Chariot Prize was established by the Committee on Energy, Transport and Communications at the State Duma and Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and is awarded to executives and employees representing domestic transportation industry, transportation services, transportation science and education, as well as related industries. This year this prestigious prize was awarded for the sixth time.
