OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. Taking into consideration the interests of the residents of the Republic of Adygea, EuroChem has completed installation of an automated station to measure air pollution in the Khanskaya village.

In accordance with the bilateral agreement concluded between the EuroChem-Belorechensk Mineral Fertilizers (EuroChem-BMU) and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Adygea, a gas analysis complex was installed in Khanskaya to automatically measure the atmospheric content of such pollutants as nitrogen oxides, ammonia and sulfur dioxide. In addition, the environmental station's equipment records wind speed and direction, temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity.

Today members of the committee, which includes specialists from EuroChem-BMU and the department of environment, ecologic examination and specially protected territories of regional importance of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, have signed the final permissions for the station to begin testing. According to the program developed by ecologists of the Republic of Adygea and the Company’s centralized department of technical inspection, the gas analysis complex will operate in the testing mode for three months in order to adjust instruments and refine control parameters. In December 2010, the ecologic station will start working in its normal operations mode.
