Parliament of Moldova Approved Creation of Subzone №3 FEZ Balti
OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. According to the amendments to the Law on Free Economic Zone Balti, approved by the deputies in the first and the second final reading, the subzone №3 FEZ Balti will comprise an area of 110 ha that currently belongs to SE Moldaeroservice and will be transferred to the balance of the zone.
The subzone has all necessary infrastructure. At the first stage the investment projects to the amount of more than EUR 38 million are to be implemented in the new subzone. Particularly, a project of the enterprise with foreign capital Unger Steel is estimated at EUR 8 million; company KBE Elektrotechnik (Tunisia) - EUR 20 million; group of companies Navel – near EUR 10 million.
The implementation of the projects will allow to create more than 1 thousand of new working places, and the volume of annual sales of goods and services of the residents of subzone №3 FEZ Balti will exceed 1,9 billion lei, totaling to 10% of the total volume of industrial production in Moldova in 2009. Currently, the FEZ Balti includes 2 land parcels of 1,5 ha and 10,35 ha, respectively, being the subzones I and II.
In the zone I there works the company Draexlmaier Automotive JSC, which rents the administrative building and the production premises. In May 2010 the company started to build a new plant on 40% territory of the subzone II with investments of more than EUR 25 million, and the rest of areas will be used since October by the suppliers of Draexlmaier Automotive - KBE Elektrotechnik SCS (Tunisia), KBE (Berlin) и DLB (Berlin).
Currently, near 1,7 thousand people are working in the FEZ Balti, with a possibility of expansion up to 4,7 thousand in the near future after the completion of the last investment projects.
