Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Change Visa-Free Regime
OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2010. On September 27 a package of bilateral agreements was signed in Tashkent within the framework of an official visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan.
Azerbaijan President I. Aliyev and Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov signed a joint declaration. An intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation for 2011-2015 was concluded, as well as a program of cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of two countries for 2010-2012, a report on introduction of changes and addenda in the intergovernmental agreement on visa-free trips of citizens of two countries (signed on July 18, 1997). The package included a report on interaction between the Interior Ministries of two countries and an agreement on cooperation and legal aid between Public Prosecutor’s Offices.
The parties signed interdepartmental agreements on mutual recognition of certificates of aeronautical personnel, on cooperation between the Uzbekistan National Broadcasting Company and “Azerbaijani Television and Broadcasting” CJSC, a contract between Uzbekistan Academy of Arts and Institute of Architecture and Art of Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences.
Presently, more than 100 documents make contractual legal framework of bilateral cooperation.
