OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2010. SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev received the Heads of Statoil Azerbaijan at Company’s Head office. President of Statoil Azerbaijan Mr. Kristian Hausken thanked for reception and said that his term is coming to an end. According to Mr. Hausken, who has headed Statoil Azerbaijan since 2007, during the period of his management, he strived for development and strengthening of partnerships with SOCAR. He expressed his gratitude to Rovnag Abdullayev for comprehensive support from SOCAR management.

Speaking about the development of the Azerbaijani economy, including oil and gas industry, Mr. Hausken expressed satisfaction with the work of the company in the achieved successes. Mr. Abdullayev praised the fruitful cooperation with Statoil, implementation of “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” block and “Shahdeniz” gas field and the development of these projects. By wishing success to him in future activities, Mr. Abdullayev pointed out the importance of mutual cooperation between SOCAR and Statoil Azerbaijan at the final stage on definition phase of “Shahdeniz-2” project. Afterwards, President of Statoil Azerbaijan Mr. Kristian Hausken presented to SOCAR management his successor in this post Mr. Lars Sorensen, noting his extensive experience both as an engineer and manager.

Mr. Sorensen, newly designated President of Statoil Azerbaijan, expressed his gladness for being appointed to Azerbaijan. Pointing out the strong partnerships between Statoil and SOCAR, the new head of the Company Lars Sorensen expressed his readiness to actively develop these relations. SOCAR President wished success to Mr. Sorensen in his future activities. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Abdullayev presented memorial gifts to Mr. Hausken.
