OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. Commissioning of the whole object is planned for the beginning of the autumn and winter period 2010 - 2011.

IDGC of North-West's branch "Komienergo" has tested the cable site of the line within the limits of realization of the project for construction of 20 kV overhead cable line in the Ust-Tsilemsky District of the Republic of Komi.

Let us remind that the cable laying works were successfully completed in August 2010. The cable line of almost 2 km in length was carried out in three stages. Almost 1.6 km of cable were laid by way of cut-and-cover construction at the bottom of the Pechora River at the first stage. The second and third stages consisted in cable laying on the right and left banks of the river. The method of horizontal directional drilling was used to make apertures with subsequent dragging of polyethylene pipes through holes and pulling cable into them.

Terminal boxes were installed on the cable junction in the middle of September. The high-voltage laboratory of the contractor LLC "Mechanizirovannaya Kolonna 24" held testing of all performance capabilities of the cable. The test report confirms compliance of the cable with standard IEC 60502 and suitability for commissioning.
