Moldova Industrial Output Increased by 5,2%
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial output growth was due to the increased production at the processing industry enterprises - by 6,3%, stimulating the increase in the overall production volumes by 5,3%.
At the same time the volume of production at the extractive industry enterprises reduced by 5,7%, stimulating the decrease of total index by 0,1%. The considerable growth was registered at the enterprises: producing clothes - by 11%, wine – by 16,9%, tobacco products – by 43,1%, distilled alcoholic drinks – by 19,6%, dairy products – by 8%.
The production of footwear increased by 21%, canned fruit and vegetables - by 11,6%, machinery and equipment – by 22,7%, varnishes and paints – by 16,3%, suitcases and bags – by 30%, medical and pharmaceutical products – by 31,9%. Production, processing and preservation of meat and meat products increased by 2,4%; production of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery – by 4,1%. Over 8 months of 2010 the output of finished fodder for animals increased by 10,2%, paper and cardboard – by 5,6%.
The growth in the iron and steel industry made up 5,8%. At the same time, in January-August 2010 the output reduced at the enterprises, producing other nonmetal mineral products (glass, cement, gypsum, etc.) - by 8,4%, fats and oils – by 17%. The output of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment decreased by 25,4%, rubber and plastic goods – by 9,6%, machinery and equipment – by 3,3%, wood and wooden products - by 23,1%, medical devices, precise, optical instruments - by 16,8%.
