Ukraine to Facilitate Economic Cooperation with Estonia
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. Ukraine hopes to facilitate trade and economic cooperation with Estonia. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Yaan Hein.
The Prime Minister believes that his visit to the Republic of Estonia, scheduled for October 5-6, will facilitate the development of the bilateral relations. "I hope that the visit of your President, your Minister of Foreign Affairs to Ukraine and my visit to your country will give a good positive momentum for the development of our trade and economic cooperation", he said.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine has stressed that European integration remains a key priority of our country. In the short term, Ukraine hopes to sign association, free trade agreements and to introduce a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU. "We would like at the summit, held in December, to clearly discuss the deadline for introducing visa-free regime", said Mykola Azarov. According to him, Ukraine is studying Estonia’s experience of joining the European Union.
Yaan Hein has promised Estonia’s support to Ukraine's course towards European integration. "We are convinced that the EU doors should be always open to anyone who wants to join it and no restrictions should be", he said. According to him, Estonia views the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, as historical one. "This will be a historic visit, because the last visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Estonia was 14 years ago. This visit will be a landmark and promote the development of bilateral relations", said the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia.
