UTair Adds Boeing 737-400 to Fleet
OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010. UTair Aviation has expanded its fleet with the addition of medium-range Boeing 737-400 aircraft through a partnership with the Sberbank Leasing. The comfortable jet liners are designed to transport up to 144 passengers in a single economy class. UTair has launched three of these aircraft into service and plans to integrate an additional three aircraft of this type into the fleet by the end of 2010.
The launch of operations with Boeing 737-400 aircraft represents the next stage of UTair's fleet modernization program in coordination with plans to extend the company's flight geography and expanded service. UTair has already initiated its fleet expansion program with two medium-range Boeing 757-200 aircraft currently operating on routes with high traffic demand potential. The carrier has also expanded its domestic fleet this year with comfortable and efficient Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft. UTair is now operating six aircraft of this type. By spring 2011 the carrier expects to have 15 of this aircraft type in service.
In 2010 UTair expects to serve more than 4.8 million passengers, 34% more than in 2009. More than 100 fixed wing aircraft will be involved in reaching this target in 2010, including Boeing 757-200s, Тu-154Мs, Boeing 737-500s, ATR 72s, Bombardier CRJ 200s, ATR 42 aircraft.
