OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010.On the construction territory of Adler sewage-purification facilities monolith walls and base of columns of the first aero-tanks.

Closed aero-tanks are special reservoirs for the biological waste water purification. Covered aero-tanks will prevent ingress of environment pollution, and will improve ecological situation of the district. Aero-tanks of the sewage-purification facilities are of square shape; technological equipment – pug-mills and perforated pipes for aeration – will be built in. This is a seismic stable construction which is one of the important issues in purification facilities construction in Sochi.

At the second stage of the construction of aero-tanks foundation pit and concrete preparations have started. Armoring and concrete casting of post-treatment and disinfection housing are in progress on the purification facilities in Adler District. Foundation backing for the site preparation for metal construction assembly has started on gas-air emission purification facilities.

Bottoms and walls concrete casting is in progress on the primary sludge pump station. Two radial precipitation tanks of D 30 meters are casted with concrete. The height of each precipitation tank is 4 meters. First equipment is due to arrive on the construction site starting from the middle of September of the current year. First reservoir facilities will be tested in the current month – aired sand trap and secondary radial precipitation tanks. Around 700 people are working on the facility.

According to the calculations new purification facilities of 100 thousand m3/day will be able to purify drains in the Adler District and the Olympic Venues of the coastal cluster. Modern technologies are used in designing sewage-purification facilities in Sochi. At the new venues ultra violet disinfection and deep afterpurification of biologically treated sewage water on microfiltered membranes will be used instead of chemicals. Construction of the two new gas purification plants is planned at the new purification facilities where air-gas emissions will be purified before entering the atmosphere. The use of new technologies while sludge treatment will save from unpleasant smell and also reduce sediments and expenditure of energy.

Purification facilities construction is in active progress in Krasnaya Polyana. Aero tanks concrete casting works come to an end. All the necessary equipment has been ordered in Finland. Assembly works will start at the end of October of the current year. At the moment there is no modern infrastructure in Krasnaya Polyana which would be able to purify waste waters. Most of the houses and other facilities in this area are not connected to the central sewage system of Sochi. New purification facilities capacity will be 15 thousand m3/day which will be able to purify the drains of main sewage collector from Krasnaya Polyana and Esto-Sadok settlements, as well as from sports venues STC “Gornaya Karousel”, ski jump complexes, MSR “Roza Khutor”, MCR “Alpika-Service” and Russian National Sliding center. Commissioning of the venue is planned for summer 2011.
