British Ambassador to Russia Notes Commitment to Safety in TNK-BP
OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010. Ann Pringle, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, has visited the Saratov Oil Refinery (a subsidiary of TNK-BP), where she held a meeting with refinery and TNK-BP management. Kirill Gorshenin, acting Minister of Industry and Energy of the Saratov Region, also took part in the meeting, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss safety and accident prevention work at the refinery, including supply issues. The ambassador noted that the Saratov Oil Refinery, like TNK-BP as a whole, displays great commitment to these issues.
Thanks to the well-planned and smooth operations of their staff and HSE departments, TNK-BP’s subsidiaries were virtually unaffected by this summer’s fires. Moreover, the company was able to provide substantial assistance in tackling the fires in a number of regions, including Saratov.
To conclude her visit, Ann Pringle toured the facilities at the Saratov Oil Refinery.
