OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010. The Government and the coalition are willing to do everything for Ukrainian light industry feels confident, both on domestic and foreign markets. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov announced this during a roundtable on light industry.
According to him, the light industry problem is not resolved for many years: "Neither the Politburo of CCCPSS at the time, nor the Ukrainian Government during all the 20 years past, made no move toward light industry."
Borys Kolesnikov said that among the others the Ukrainian light industry is also experiencing problems of unfair competition. According to him, according to the State customs service information, light industry goods imported to Ukraine are imported at lowered prices. To give the example, Borys Kolesnikov called suppliers the customs prices for suits, imported to Ukraine in the average price over 3 USD per unit of goods, and shoes made of leather - more than 8 USD. The Vice Prime Minister stressed that this situation does not only create unfair competition for the Ukrainian light industry, but also causes huge losses for the budget of Ukraine, which funds education and healthcare.
