OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2010. Air Astana announces the launch of two additional flights between Astana and Atyrau. The number of flights from the capital to the oil city of Western Kazakhstan will increase to 9 flights a week. The additional flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Airbus A320 aircraft (16 seats of business class and 132 seats of economy class), reported the press-centre of Air Astana.

“Frequency increase of flights between the capital of Kazakhstan and Atyrau will serve the increasing traffic between the cities.  The additional evening flights will add further flexibility to the travel schedule of our passengers on the Astana – Atyrau – Astana route”, Ibrahim Canliel, VP Sales & Marketing, Air Astana JSC.

Air Astana has been operating regular flights between Astana and Atyrau since April 1, 2004. The airline has transported 367,214 passengers.

The cost of a one-way ticket is 29,200 tenge for economy class including airport fees and taxes, and 53,940 tenge for business class also including all fees.

The new services (KC983/KC984) will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing Astana at is 19:25 and arriving in Atyrau at 20:55. The return flight departs at 21:55, arriving back to Astana at 01:10, the following morning. The flight duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
