OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2010. Kazakhtelecom JSC technically supports the VII Forum of inter regional cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia, which takes place in Ust-Kamenogorsk, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

To provide high data transfer channels of Forum participants and representatives of Mass media, East Kazakhstan Oblast Telecommunication Direction (EK OTD) held some technical measures.

Small and large press-centers have been organized in places of main measures, where 12 telephones with trunk and international communication, 8 facsimile and 2 large copiers, 10 printers and 70 notebooks have been provided. 12 Wi-Fi points have been organized in places of journalists’ work, 15 additional points of local network and 2 dedicated direct lines for high speed uninterrupted data transfer in large volumes have been organized in small press-center. Also EK OTD organized Wi-Fi free of charge in places of residing of Forum participants and journalists. It shall be noted that over 3 thousand employees are working for EK OTD, at that Technical Block is the largest. 

Growth of population interest as to broadband Internet access as new Kazakhtelecom services is noted in East Kazakhstan oblast. For instance, the number of broadband Internet access subscribers from the beginning of the year grew to 11 thousand people as of 1.09.2010  and composes 49 801 people. As per data for 8 months 593 iD Phone clients  and 387 iD TV clients are registered in the oblast.

Kazakhtelecom is regularly renders technical support the most notable events. Thus, in 2010 at Kazakhtelecom technical support have been held: the ceremony of opening of New University and telebridge on presentation of industrial objects with participation of the Head of state (Astana), OSCE conference on tolerance and non discrimination (Astana), Summit of ministers of foreign affairs OSCE (Talgar, Almaty oblast), Eurasian Investment Summit (Almaty), IX Eurasian media-forum (Almaty), the 51st international mathematic Olympiad (Astana).
