OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2010. The leading world brands and the best products from more than 80 countries took part in the contest. The Grand Gold medal, won by Chisinau Blonda, is the highest decoration of Monde Selection institute and is awarded to beer brands, having the best gustatory quality and obtaining an average result of more than 90%.

According to General Director of EFES Vitanta Moldova Brewery Kenan Ozchelik , the company is especially proud of its beer winning the recognition abroad. “This proves the fact that Chisinau Blonda beer, produced in Moldova and most popular in our country, may compete with international brands,” – Kenan Ozchelik said. Monde Selection – is the world recognized international competition for quality selections.

Since 1961 it is held annually by the International Belgian Institute for Quality Assessment, the oldest international independent institute in this field. Every year more than 2 thousand products from 80 countries are tested in the following categories: strong drinks; beer and soft drinks; tobacco goods, food products and cosmetics. The jury of Monde Selection comprises the eminent experts, having the experience of many years in their field and participating in various sampling competitions as well.

The majority of them are the leading brewers, university professors and professional testers that actively participate in production of new beer brands and in improvement of gustatory quality of the existing brands. Every product is tested on 20 parameters, including the subsequent laboratory analysis of the samples, and is individually appraised by the jury members. Since 2003, when Vitanta Intravest plant became a part of EFES group, near USD75 million were invested in the improvement of production process and quality of products.
