OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2010. The Delegation of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) visited Kharkiv and met with the management of MEGABANK, PJSC. The German delegation was headed by the Deputy Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Friedel Eggelmayer. Its membership also includes the Deputy Director of Department for Eastern Europe of the Ministry Otmar Grief, the Vice president of German State Bank KfW Eva Witt, the Director of the KfW office in Kiev Heiko Yannermann and the Director of the GTZ Office in Kiev (the structure of the technical assistance funded by BMZ) Holger Noyveger, reported the press-centre of MEGABANK.

The sides discussed the cooperation in the sphere of lending to small and medium business in Ukraine and came to the conclusion that the program of support of this segment of the Ukrainian economy is being successfully implemented. It will be recalled that, the KfW cooperates with MEGABANK since 2007 realizing the long-term program under the loan agreements in within the amount of USD 10 million and the loan agreement on the terms of subordinated debt in the amount of USD, the equivalent to EURO4,4 million. In addition, MEGABANK works with the German-Ukrainian Fund to support the program of micro-, small and medium-sized businesses in the amount of EURO 5 million. KfW and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, who are shareholders of the MEGABANK, PJSC, also fund MEGABANK due to receive technical assistance on credit risk management and governance of the regional network.

During the visit the German delegation also met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Kharkov Regional State Administration Vladimir Babaev. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Kharkov Regional Council Victoria Kazakova, the Head of fuel and energy complex of the Kharkov Regional State Administration Basil Bezyazychnyi, the Head of Foreign Economic Relations and International Relations of the Kharkov Regional State Administration Igor Matyushenko, the Chairman of the Management Board of MEGABABK, PJSC Elena Zhukova. Participants discussed possible joint projects in the framework of the Euro-2012.

“In my opinion, Kharkov prepares on a high level for Euro 2012”, - said Friedel Eggelmayer at a meeting in Kharkov City Council.
