OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2010. OJSC TATNEFT participated in the XVIIth International Exhibition "Oil and Gas. Petrochemistry" held at Kazan Fair premises. Traditionally, TATNEFT presented new technologies, being developed and implemented in the Company, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of Tatarstan, noted that this exhibition was special for the Republic of Tatarstan, as an oil producing and oil refining Republic, where a global project: construction of TANECO crude oil refining and petrochemical complex in Nizhnekamsk, was implementing. The Prime Minister said, that the Republic was looking far ahead with regard to these issues.

Yury Shafranik, Chairman of the Supreme Mining Council, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia, called Kazan exhibition among the first in the Russian Federation and noted that its level was increasing from one year to another. He noted that Tatarstan remained consistent in its striving to innovative development, and this experience was worthy of replication throughout the whole Russia.

The main theme of TATNEFT's exposition was the TANECO complex. The video commercial broadcast on a giant screen demonstrated the progress of construction in Nizhnekamsk of the largest in the post-perestroika times project in the petrochemical industry in Russia.

The latest new technologies presented by TATNEFT, developed and implemented in the Company included the latest modified versions of chain drives manufactured by Bugulma Mechanical Plant of OJSC TATNEFT applied instead of the conventional pumping units. Low frequency oscillations with uniform speed cause reduction of failures and significant energy saving. The interest of the visitors also was attracted by the stands, telling about the pilot development of the bitumen oil deposits, as well as the stands informing about application of new methods of enhanced oil recovery.

Along with TATNEFT the service companies of the Republic of Tatarstan, such as OOO TMS Group Management Company, OOO Systema-Service Management Company, OOO Tatneft-TruboprovodService Management Company and Tatneft-Energoservice Management Company also presented their new developments.

Tatneft-Neftechim Management Company presented new models of its tire products.

Traditionally, a number of significant events that had been organized with the support of the President and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan City Mayor's Office and had been dated to the 60th anniversary of TATNEFT, were held in the framework of the main exhibition.

This time the main event was a visiting joint meeting of the Supreme Council of the Mining Non-Profit Partnership "Russian Mining Operators" and the Council of the "Union of Russian Oil and Gas Producers". Weighty reports of scientists and experts of TATNEFT Group of Companies were presented at the international scientific and practical conference "Innovation and technologies in exploration, production and refining of oil and gas".

Concurrently the International "Oil and Gas. Petrochemistry" Exhibition hosted the Interregional Conference "Industrial Ecology and Safety", where TATNEFT also presented its exposition telling about the main areas and achievements of the Company's activity in this field.
