OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2010. Minister of Industry and Innovations of Nizny Novgorod region Nikolay Sataev visited Afrikantov EDBMB OJSC (is a part of Rosatom State Corporation).

In the course of his visit he inspected the enterprise production facilities, attended pilot sites, where Rosatom production system is being introduced, and held a meeting during which there were presented innovative developments of Afrikantov EDBMB OJSC.

As First Deputy Director, Chief Designer of Afrikantov EDBMB OJSC Vitaly Petrunin noted in his report that the company was involved in major innovative projects of Rosatom State Corporation and performed the functions of the chief designer and batch supplier of equipment for the BN-800 fast neutron reactor system (4th power unit of Beloyarsk NPP) and KLT-40S low-power reactor systems for the world’s first floating nuclear thermal power plant called “Akademik Lomonosov” (is being constructed in St. Petersburg). Among the enterprise’s innovative projects he also emphasized medium power reactors for the regional nuclear power industry, nuclear power system for the future new generation ice-breaker, high-temperature gas-cooled reactors and NPP equipment.

Summarizing the results of the visit, Minister of Industry and Innovation of the Nizhny Novgorod region Nikolay Sataev said that the Government of Nizhny Novgorod region was planning to apply to the RF Government with a request to finance high-tech developments of Afrikantov EDBMB OJSC.
