OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2010. The Motor Sich, a major producer of aircraft engines in the CIS region, is ready to create a joint venture with the Russian Defense Ministry to produce up-to-date helicopter engines in Russia, Interfax announced on Sep 13. The enterprise is expected to be located in Russia and produce up to 100 engines annually.

Millennium Capital considers the news as positive for MSICH. The project helps to strengthen the company’s position on the Russian market, which is of crucial inportance for the company. Motor Sich has previously planned to start its own assembly plant in Russia so as to secure its market share of the Russian market. Approximately 80% of Russian helicopters are fitted out with MSICH engines.
