Moldova Took 94th Place in World Competitiveness Ranking
OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2010. According to annual competitiveness ranking, released by the World Economic Forum, particularly, on the index “institutions” Moldova took 102nd place, “infrastructure” – 97th, “macroeconomic environment” – 90th, “health and primary education” – 84th, “higher education and training” – 78th, “goods market efficiency” – 104th, “labor market efficiency” – 68th, “financial market development” – 103rd, “technological readiness” – 89th, “market size” – 121st, “innovation” – 129th.
Besides, according to the ranking, the most problematic factors for doing business in Moldova are: policy instability, access to financing, corruption, government instability, inadequate supply of infrastructure, tax regulations, inadequately educated workforce, tax rates, inflation, crime and theft, poor public health.
Switzerland became the most competitive country of the world again and left behind Sweden, Singapore and USA. Germany (5th), Japan (6th), Finland (7th), the Netherlands (8th), Denmark (9th) were among the top 10. Russia took 63rd place, Romania – 67th, the Ukraine – 89th.
