OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2010. Belarusian sugar refineries have started processing sugar beet of this year’s harvest, an official in Belgospischeprom concern told.

The refineries plan to produce 500,000 tonnes of beet sugar.

It is planned that beet harvest will reach 4 million tonnes in 2010.

Gorodeya Sugar Refinery is expected to process 1.032 million tonnes of sugar beet in the 2010/2011 processing season, Slootsk Sugar Refinery 1.145 million tonnes, Zhabinka Sugar Refinery 1.002 million tonnes and Skidel Sugar Refinery 821,000 tonnes.
