OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2010. A meeting was held with the participants of “New Silk Road – Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe Gas Odyssey” Project in Istanbul at new office of SOCAR representation in Turkey. The project envisages delivering of the canister of gas to Istanbul by a group of American, Azeri and Turkish students who have come together to pioneer a route Azerbaijan will take to reach European markets.

The participants were informed on SOCAR activities in Turkey. Besides, it was pointed out that the gas container prepared by the students of the U.S Montana State University will symbolize new cooperation. At the end of the meeting the gas container filled in Baku was handed over to the Chief of SOCAR representation in Turkey Mr. Seymur Agayev.

The project participants are led by Montana State University professor, journalist Thomas C. Goltz who is the author of “Azerbaijani diary” and “Georgian diary” books, “Mugham in Montana” film, “Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan Oil Odyssey”, and “New Silk Road – Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe Gas Odyssey” projects as well.
