S&P Raised Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) National Scale Rating
OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2010. The independent international rating agency Standard & Poor's raised the national scale rating of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) by one notch to “uaBB”, reported the press-centre of Alfa-Bank.
The agency also revised the outlook on international scale ratings of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) to “positive”. Bank’s international scale issuer credit ratings were affirmed at “CCC+/C”.
The rating actions reflect the Bank's improving liquidity, a sustained strong market position, and recently supported capitalization amid the gradually stabilizing economy in Ukraine.
It is the second rating action of Standard & Poor's this year. In March 2010, Standard & Poor's revised the international rating outlook of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) to “stable” and upgraded its national scale rating by two notches to “uaBB-”.
Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) is a universal commercial bank that is part of the international Alfa Group Consortium. The Bank holds leading positions in all segments of the Ukrainian banking sector. According to the National Bank of Ukraine statistics, the Bank is in TOP10 banks in terms of total assets and is one of the leaders in terms of customer accounts of legal entities and growth rate of individual customers’ accounts.
