Ukraine, Kazakhstan to Boost Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2010. First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev and his Kazakh counterpart Umirzak Shukeyev have signed a protocol of the ninth session of the Joint Ukrainian-Kazakh interstate commission on economic cooperation.
As Andriy Klyuyev informed, during the meeting the sides paid special attention to several issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly in energy, engineering, agricultural engineering, agriculture, culture and education. "In fact, we discussed issues in all areas of economic cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan and agreed that we would intensify work on implementing joint investment projects", the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine noted and added that the Ministries of Economy, Fuel and Energy and Industrial Policies of the both states have been instructed to prepare a number of suggestions on the cooperation in specific investment projects.
In addition, according to him, during a visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Ukraine it is scheduled to hold a "round table" with representatives of big business and government monopolies of the both countries to discuss issues of the intensification of Ukrainian-Kazakh investment activities.
In turn, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev has noted there are specific agreements on all issues discussed by the parties: "I think that the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Ukraine would be effective and today's session of the Commission could be considered productive and very efficient".
However, Andriy Klyuyev has added that during a visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev, Ukraine and Kazakhstan are to sign a number of bilateral agreements.
