FAS Initiated Case against Salavatnefteorgsynthez
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against “Salavatnefteorgsynthez” OJSC for the signs of violating Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (abusing market dominance), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The case was initiated upon a petition of “Caustic” OJSC (of Sterlitamak).
FAS Russia suspects that “Salavatnefteorgsynthez” OJSC violated the antimonopoly law by imposing disadvantageous contract conditions upon “Caustic” OJSC; evading contract with “Caustic” OJSC without any economic or technological justification; fixing economically, technologically or otherwise unjustified different prices for the same goods; and creating discriminatory conditions.
Ethylene is the main raw material for production of polyvinylchloride (PVC) by “Caustic” OJSC “Salavatnefteorgsynthez” OJSC is one of the largest Russian producers of butyl alcohols, petrol, ethylene, propylene, polyethylene and other petrochemicals.
