OREANDA-NEWS. September 8, 2010. The federal center will allocate one billion roubles to Karelia to close the republican budget deficit partially, on which Head of Karelia Andrei Nelidov has agreed in Moscow at the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia.

As Andrei Nelidov explained: "Until recently we were in a very difficult financial situation related to 3,3 billion rouble deficiency of the budget. The meeting was very constructive, we did not ask, but explained the situation. Initially, it was supposed to close the budget deficit through selling some property of the republic. But we do not want to sell a part of this property, as it is very valuable and important for the republic. We carried conviction, and together with the Minister of Finance of the republic Mr.Maksimov we managed to achieve the agreement that the republic will be allocated one billion roubles of additional funds. Plenipotentiary of the President Ilya Klebanov who was present at the meeting also supported us concerning this issue." The allocated means will allow to conclude the year, having fulfilled all social obligations of the budget.

Andrei Nelidov also met with Boris Gryzlov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia. "This party recommended me for a post of the Head of Karelia, thus, the opinion of the party means a lot to me, – head of the republic said. – On results of the meeting we have agreed that Boris Gryzlov will visit Karelia by the end of the year." The purpose of his visit will be to form an estimate of work of the regional party management, implementation of the party's projects, relations of the party with authorities, public organizations and population, and to render necessary support.

Besides, Head of Karelia has held a number of important negotiations in Moscow, including consultations with one of the largest trout farmers concerning possible involvement of investments in the republic amounting to 3 billion roubles.
