OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2010. According to unaudited data, the income of Lietuvos Energija Group for 6 months of this year reached LTL 838.86 million, pre-tax profit accounted for LTL 88.58, net profit - LTL 71.14 million. During the same period in 2009 the group received LTL 827.36 million of income and suffered a net loss of LTL 26.4 million, while a pre-tax loss accounted for LTL 31.35 million. The loss of last year‘s 6 months was subject to the accounted reduction of asset value.

“The group's results of this year were positively influenced by the reduced business and technological expenses, increased electricity generation in the subsidiaries of Lietuvos Energija AB, reduced depreciation due to the decreased asset value after its reappraisal at the end of 2009 according to the construction prices index and reappraised asset value, due to which the asset value reduction was accounted“, - said Mr. Darius Grondskis, Director of Finance Department of Lietuvos Energija AB.

The subsidiaries of Lietuvos Energija – Kaunas hydro power plant and Kruonis pumped storage plant, compared with the period before closure of Ignalina nuclear power plant, increased the generation of electricity by 31.8 per cent - up to 676 million kWh, but due to the decreased consumptions less electricity was transmitted for domestic needs - by 2.1 per cent - 4,53 billion kilowatt-hours.

According to Mr. D. Grondskis, the activity results of first 6 months were positively influenced by the reduced interest expenses – Lietuvos Energija paid back its all loans.
