OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2010. Belarus’ farm output increased 8.4% on the year in January-July to 14.6 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 5.5% on the year in January-July to 782,200 tonnes, milk output rose 1.2% to 4.085 million tonnes, and egg output went up 2.9% to 2.151 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 4.1% in January-June 2010, down from 5.8% in January-June 2009.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1 trillion rubles in January-June 2010, up 0.7% on the year.

In January-June 2010, farms’ net loss reached 21 billion rubles, up 330% year-on-year. There were 23 unprofitable farms, compared to 16 loss-makers in January-June 2009.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2 trillion rubles as of July 1, 2010, 18.2% of all payables.
