OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2010. Belarusian Railway in association with Austrian Far East Land Bridge Ltd is working on a new logistical scheme to transport Belarusian potash fertilizers to China, the Belarusian railway operator said in a statement.

“Transport of potash in high-capacity containers via Russian trans Siberian line is being considered now. The project was discussed in August during a meeting between Belarusian Railway specialists and representatives of Far East Land Bridge Ltd. The company specializes in container transport from China and South Korea to Western Europe and back to Asia,” the statement reads.

The project could prove beneficial for Belarus, as it would be able to increase rail transportation. At present, potash is delivered to China by sea via Baltic seaports.
