OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2010. Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Michael Lavon-Lotem met with SOCAR Vice-President for Ecology Mr. Soltan Aliyev to get acquainted with SOCAR-implemented environmental projects and discuss potential cooperation opportunities. On September 2, Mr. Michael Lavon-Lotem got acquainted with reconstruction and greenery works at Ecological Park.

The ambassador was informed on the purposes and intentions of Ecological Park. The Israeli diplomat was also briefed on alternative energy sources, application of modern irrigation systems, zero waste principle, and special preference for extinguishing plants to be planted at the Park. Afterwards, Mr. Michael Lavon-Lotem was informed about the recultivation and bioremediation works carried out by Ekol Engineering Services in the territory of “H.Z.Taghiyev” OGPD of Azneft PU.

The ambassador also got acquainted with Complex Research Laboratory of Ecological Department at Balakhani settlement. At the end of the visit, Mr. Michael Lavon-Lotem highly estimated the attention of SOCAR to environmental protection. The diplomat gave information on environmental works implemented by Israeli companies and pointed out the possibility of mutual visits for future experiences.
