Tatneft AZS-Center Launched Floating Petrol Filling Station
OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2010. Tatneft AZS-Center has launched a floating filling station, which will be located in the city of Kazan on the Volga River near the river port and will be the first filling station of this kind in Tatarstan, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.
Bank strengthening works will be carried out in the place of the floating filling station launching during September. FFS is scheduled for commissioning on October 1 after receiving all necessary approvals.
Unlike conventional river vessels the floating filling stations have to meet a number of stringent requirements, due primarily to fire and explosion hazards as well as the need for compliance with environmental standards. Hence, an emergency bath to collect spilled fuel at the fuel dispensers, which allow charging even cans and portable tanks of water transport means, eliminating the risk of fuel contamination of the environment. It is expected that river vessels, boats and jet skis will be serviced during the navigation period, and in winter refueling services will be provided for snowmobiles.
Floating filling stations can charge two vessels simultaneously, performing up to 96 fillings per day in two types of gasoline and diesel fuel. The mobile platform in the form of a water vessel has been manufactured at one of the industrial enterprises in Novosibirsk.
Expansion of such filling stations will help to improve the state of water in rivers, since today when refueling river vessels and motor boats directly from the cans part of fuel inevitably falls into the water.
"Vista" Limited Liability Company (Director - Robert M. Husainov) performs as the contractor building a floating petrol station. This company normally deals with construction of conventional filling stations of OJSC Tatneft in different regions of the Russian Federation.
For TATNEFT Company this is the fourth floating petrol filling station. One of them operates in Moscow region, in the zone of Pirogovskoye water reservoir, the second one in St. Petersburg at the Vasilevsky Island, and the third is located in the town of Kronstadt near the Constantine Fort. These stations will be located also at Klyazminskoye water reservoir and in the areas of the Volga-Kama basin.
